My Postpartum Fitness Journey✨
Kicking Through Motherhood Together 💪
Hey mama —
If you’re reading this while nursing a baby, holding a toddler, or trying to remember where you left your coffee (or in my case, hot chocolate or water)… I see you.
I’m five months postpartum with baby number three, and let me tell you — this time around has been a whole different ball game.
Harder in ways I didn’t expect.
More humbling than I imagined.
And yet, so full of unexpected beauty and lessons I didn’t even know I needed.

Every Pregnancy Is Different — And That’s Okay
This third time around, I came into pregnancy with experience, confidence, and a deep respect for what the body goes through — and what it’s capable of. I already knew how to train safely during pregnancy, and I’ve spent years building and learning movement strategies that support strength, mobility, and a smoother delivery. My husband, a professional kickboxer, has been by my side through it all, helping me stay strong, healthy, and smart in how I move.
In my second pregnancy, I kickboxed consistently. I lifted weights, trained hard, and felt incredible. That pregnancy was smooth and full of energy — I didn’t even experience many of the typical symptoms. But the delivery? It was traumatic — not because of the kickboxing or training, but due to how things were handled medically during our hospital birth. (That’s a story I’ll share in a future post.)
This time, I had a more gentle, intentional approach — not because I lacked confidence in my training, but because my body needed something different. I battled intense nausea, major swelling (I couldn’t even wear tennis shoes after five months), migraines, and carpal tunnel so painful I could barely hold a fork — let alone cut hair or punch a bag. So I pivoted. I leaned into prenatal yoga, breath work, and strength-building movements designed specifically to support my changing body and prep for delivery.
And that’s the truth about pregnancy fitness — it’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s about adapting, listening to your body, and knowing what season you’re in.
This Was My Hardest Postpartum Yet
My son was nearly 12 pounds (Blake babies come out ready for the ring 😂), and recovery took a toll on me physically and emotionally. The postpartum fog hit harder than I remembered. I felt drained, disconnected, and not at all like myself. Between homeschooling our 4-year-old, traveling for my teenager’s cheer competitions, and surviving the holidays with a newborn… it was a lot.
There were days I didn’t recognize the person in the mirror — and not just physically. I missed my spark, my energy, my ambition. My postpartum recovery journey has been slow.
The Supplement That Changed Everything
For months, I had been researching a particular ancestral supplement that supports postpartum healing, energy, and hormonal balance. I finally got the go-ahead from my midwife to take it while breastfeeding — and wow, what a difference.
Within just a few weeks, I felt lighter. Not physically (yet), but mentally. Having the energy to make it through the day without needing a nap. I actually wanted to work out again, I was able to pour back into the things that make me feel like me: my blog, my Etsy shop, movement, creativity — even just laughing again with Randy over a game of Fortnite in the evenings.
I can’t wait to share my full results over time, but if you want to check it out, you can find it [HERE] — and use my code for 10% off.
Rebuilding Strength — Inside & Out
No, I’m not “bouncing back.”
I’m not chasing a number on the scale or a pre-baby version of myself.
I’m rebuilding — slowly, intentionally — with respect for the woman I’ve become. The body that carried me through. The strength I still have, even when it feels buried under spit-up and sleepless nights.
And I want to do it with you.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing my real postpartum fitness journey — the workouts, the routines, the wins, the messy middle, and everything in between. Whether you’re five weeks postpartum or five years, if you’re feeling stuck or lost in your body, I want you to know:
You are not alone.
You are powerful.
And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
Let’s Kick Through Motherhood Together 🥊
No toxic bounce-back culture here. Just real-life strength, healing, and support — one sweat session at a time.
Let’s rebuild, mama.
One day, one step, one punch at a time.
With love (and sore muscles),
Amia
