25 Must-Have Products for Postpartum Healing

THE ULTIMATE LIST FOR POSTPARTUM MOMS

Hey mama,

If you’re in the thick of postpartum life, first of all, you’re doing an amazing job. Whether you’re freshly home with your new baby or a few months into sleepless nights and spit-up, this season is beautiful, intense, and, let’s be real, it can be overwhelming.

After having three babies (and recovering in three totally different ways), I’ve learned what really makes a difference when it comes to postpartum healing. These are my ride-or-die products—the things I reach for over and over again that actually help. I’ve tried a little of everything, and this list is what I’d gift every new mom if I could.

Most of the links below are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase (at no extra cost to you!). I only share products I’ve personally used and genuinely recommend.

Ready to build your own postpartum recovery kit? Let’s do it 🙂

Here is a picture of our newest member of the #BlakeTribe Randy Blake lll (We call him RB3) at 1 day old. Fun Fact- His dad also goes by RB3. “Randy Boom Boom Blake” is his Fight Name.

This green robe I have on is the Caden and Lane Robe I talk about further down on the list.

Body Care + Pain Relief Essentials

  • Peri Bottle – A must after vaginal birth. Keep one in every bathroom. Most hospitals and birthing centers will send you home with one, but It’s always nice to have more than one. If you get a sitz bath, you could do without this.
  • Dermoplast Spray – Cooling relief for all of your lady bits. This is a absolute must and is a lifesaver. I went through 3-4 cans throughout my postpartum healing.
  • Tucks Pads – Witch hazel magic for hemorrhoids and general healing. I would line 4 of these in my pads after every time I used the restroom. I went through 2 large tubs. It will depend on your individual needs and if you have hemorrhoids.
  • Hemorrhoid cream– If you do have them, and I hope you don’t, I would suggest this one. If you are on top of your magnesium every day, it’s less likely. I ran out of my magnesium for 3 days and unfortunately got the dreaded hemorrhoid. I was able to avoid it for the first 2 months postpartum, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
  • Perineal Ice Pads – Buy or DIY (I’ll be sharing my homemade version soon!).
  • Sitz Bath + Sitz Spray – Soothing and healing when everything feels sore for those first few weeks. The sitz bath is also great for hemorrhoids and constipation.
  • Disposable Adult Diapers – So much more comfortable than pads those first few days. After second child was born, I sucked up my pride and tried the diapers. Let me tell you, I will never go back! This is a absolute must! I would line the diaper with a pad, then I could use a ice pad. once the cold was gone I could just switch out for a new pad.
  • Postpartum Underwear – Soft, stretchy, and supportive.
  • Donut Pillow – Total lifesaver for sitting down during the first week. This one is awesome because you can put in an ice pad.
  • Belly Binder – Great for gentle compression and support in early recovery.
  • Belly Cream – I love 8 Sheep Organics for keeping skin hydrated and supported. I just continued using what I had from my pregnancy. I did get a few stretch marks… but I also gained 60lbs and had a 12lb baby.. so I’m not complaining.

Breastfeeding + Chest Care:

  • Nipple Cream – Lanolin free is the way I prefer to go. This one is great for everyday use. Personally, I would ask your doctor or midwife before you give birth to call in the compound nipple cream. This stuff is simply magic. In the beginning, breastfeeding can leave you with cracked and bleeding nipples. This stuff will heal you up within a few days.
  • Silverettes – These magical little cups are game-changers for healing. I wish I would have known about these my first two pregnancies.
  • Nursing Bras – Comfy and easy access is everything.
  • Breast Pump – Find one that works with your lifestyle (I’ll share my favorite!).
  • Milk Dust – A protein powder designed just for breastfeeding mamas.

Supplements & Wellness:

  • Prenatal Vitamins – Yes, keep taking them postpartum! I loved these ones. The methylated folate is a must!
  • After Ease Drops – My midwife suggested these right after birth to help with the afterbirth contractions. I absolutely wish I had these for my first 2 births. I used 2 full bottles.
  • Magnesium – A great help for sleep, stress, muscle recovery, and a must to help avoid constipation and hemorrhoids.
  • Red Raspberry Leaf Tea – Supportive for postpartum uterus healing.
  • Ancestral Supplements – These were a game-changer for my energy (read more about my experience [here]).

Comfort Items for You:

  • Robe – Easy for nursing, and helps with the pain of trying to pull up pants. You’re lady bits are still tender. I’ve had 2 Caden and Lane robes for my last 2 pregnancies. I actually bought them to wear after I gave birth, and to match with my baby. The fabric is made of bamboo and is incredibly soft and cozy. I am totally hooked. I still wear mine every day.
  • Hydration & Snacks – Keep a basket by your bed or nursing chair with spring water, trail mix, protein bars, and maybe a few pieces of dark chocolate 😉 Here is another protein shake I like for lactation and meal replacement.
  • Loose, Soft Outfits – Think flowy joggers and nursing-friendly tops.

Postpartum is a time of intense transition, and having the right tools can make a world of difference. Whether it’s your first baby or your third, I hope this list helps you feel a little more prepared, supported, and seen.
